Combined Metering Current/Voltage Transformer

AREVA Instrument Transformers’ combined CT/VT consists of a current transformer portion
located at the top of the unit and a voltage transformer portion in a tank at the base. Inner-insulation is provided by a hermetically sealed oil-impregnated paper system. External insulation consists of a post type porcelain or polymer insulator.

The AREVA combined unit essentially combines the OSKF CT design and the OTEF VT design together in a larger diameter insulator. Considerable cost savings are realized in initial purchase price, transportation, real estate, and installation labor and materials when compared to two discrete transformers.

CT and VT metering accuracies of 0.3% and 0.15% are available. Additional CT cores for protection and metering can also be incorporated into the standard design.

For special revenue metering applications, AREVA offers the ERCT (Extended Range Current Transformer) option in the KOTEF design. The design incorporates a state-of-the-art core/coil design with the proven KOTEF insulation structure. The ERCT offers a 0.15B1.8 accuracy class across a very wide current range in three standard configurations:

Type 1            
2000:5A           0.15B1.8 from 1A to 4000A Primary Current

Type 2            
1000:5A           0.15B1.8 from 0.5A to 2000A Primary Current

Type 3            
500:5A              0.15B1.8 from 0.25A to 750A Primary Current
