Split-Core Current Transformers

General Description

These split-core current transformers are suitable for indoor or outdoor installation around bare conductors up to 660 V, or for insulated cables of any voltage, without the need to disconnect or cut the conductor. Units are available for both metering and protection applications. Since the current ratio and conductor diameters widely vary, please consult for factory for specific details for your application.

Construction

The two halves of the core and secondary winding are completely encapsulated in epoxy resin. The core faces are carefully honed to facilitate an excellent magnetic contact. For higher primary currents the secondary winding is distributed over both halves of the core to avoid being influenced by external magnetic fields. Mounting brackets or mounting holes are included as standard. Special mounting arrangements can be accomplished upon request.
